RE: APRRECIATION FOR THE MATERIALS FOR THE PADS
Dear Sir / Madam,
As The Blue Kangaroo Kindergarten and Primary, we would love to extend our sincere gratitude to the whole entire Rotary club community for the support of the materials that made the reusable pads which was delivered by Brian Hodge to Uganda. As a school we don’t only teach kindergarten but we also teach reproductive health to young boys and girl in primary and secondary schools in the surrounding communities. We cover topics like puberty, hygiene, Anatomy, trafficking for both girls and boys then menstruation cycle, and self-defense for girls.
I am very grateful for the love and support you all showed to the young generation of Uganda so that the girls may stay at school during their periods and boys during body changes. I visited one of the nearby schools called kwim primary school to train only primary 7 pupils and I was able to interact with 49 girls and 34 boys.
After the training, I was able to interact with few individual girls like: 
She is called Baaze Adrone Leticia 15-year-old pupil in primary 7. She said when she began her periods, her mother got her an old cloth to use because she could not afford to buy a pad of 3500shs for her. The challenge she faced with these old cloths her mother gave her was the linkage because the cloth was old. She then decided to stay at home during her periods and return to school after her periods.
Nakasango Atika 14 years old in primary 7 was my second girl I interacted with. She said her mother provided her with old pieces of the old towels when she began her periods and it was what she was using up to date. She said the challenge with the old towel was that there was linkage that made her feel ashamed while at school and sometimes she could just stay at home till the end of her period then she goes back to school.
The third girl I interacted with was Nasasa Margaret Nasenya 14 years in primary 7. She said when she began her periods, her mother had to cut some of her used skirt and gave her to use. When it became more older, she began to cut some of her clothes so that she can use during the cycle. She said the challenge with that was linkage and the cloth could sometime burn her because the material was not cotton. She added that, she preferred to stay at home while in her periods because of the linkage and the fear of being a shamed while at school.

These were the 34 boys very happy after knowing their body and body changes.
I am indeed grateful for the support, love, empowerment you have given to all girls who could feel ashamed to go to school while in their menstrual period and all boys who felt ashamed during the changes in their bodies. As the blue kangaroo kindergarten and primary school, together with the girls, boys, staff and administration of kwim primary school, we would love to extend our gratitude to the entire community of Rotary Club for the support of materials given to make sure that pads are made through different sewing groups headed by Jan Hodge. Thanks you so much Rotary Club for making the training come to pass.
