Now we have worked how to best use Zoom for our meetings, and have tested the new permanent link, we will follow the structure that we all know so well. This means we will have a chair, director reports and guest speaker. Thank you Graeme for chairing the upcoming meeting.
Toni or Adrian will be the host and will logon by 7.20am so that early birds can have a chat before the meeting starts. Also, it is possible to continue catching with some after the meeting closes if you wish to do so. Please make sure that you logon by 7.30am for the meeting.
We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday in your Ug boots with a cuppa tea or coffee and enjoying the meeting.

Guest Speaker
The guest speaker this week was Glenn Harvey, the Marketing Manager of Bendigo Tourism. Bendigo Tourism works in support of major events in Bendigo, maintains the Visitor Centres in Bendigo and Heathcote and markets those special events which don't have a captive audience. Glenn works with a team of six and collaborates with about thirty publishers in the promotion of Bendigo.
The Visitor Centres rely on the generous contribution of about 160 volunteers. Accommodation bookings which are the most challenging aspect of tourism in the current circumstances can be made through the Visitor Centres. In the last month Glenn and his team have concentrated more on local promotion given the limitations with travel.This has been particularly the case with local businesses and the alternative modes of service delivery which are being provided. Work is continuing on the promotion of Bendigo internationally.
A recent highlight of the promotion of Bendigo is the admission of Bendigo as the designated UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. This is a fifty year commitment and involves more than one hundred local producers in Bendigo and the surrounding region. The theme of "ignite the senses" is outlined in in flight magazines and other forums to attract international visitors.
Members thanked Glenn for his very comprehensive presentation. It is very reassuring to know that the promotion of Bendigo is in such good hands.
We will resume our Rotary Zoom meeting with a more formal structure as undertaken at the Bridge with a weekly chair.
For this coming week I will be in the Chair.
Adrian will be the host and log on to Zoom somewhere between 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start.
If all OK, I will welcome all those who are on screen, hopefully sometime close to 7.30 am. This will also include the guest presenter being formally welcomed to our club.
Check that everyone has their mute button on.
I will recite the 4 Way Test/Objects of Rotary and add some trivia for a short time.
I will then call on Toni and Adrian to provide their Presidents report.
Any questions will come through me. The protocol will be a hand in front of your face if you want to ask a question.
I will then call on Jim to introduce the guest presenter. Jim will have their Bio etc and will be able to facilitate this part of the meeting.
Jim will then thank the presenter and call for questions. If the presenter as scheduled is unavailable and we have plenty of notice we can call on members for an update etc)
The Chair will facilitate the Q & A for the presenter.
Directors will be asked for their reports with Q&A for each as required.
The chair will then ask members if they have any comments/suggestions/ queries etc.
The Chair will then introduce Toni and Adrian to close the meeting according to time/interest etc

A couple of photos of my current home project. I have an internal fireplace with bricks collapsing from the chimney
which is over 100 years old.. My aim is to stabilise and eventually install a gas log fire. I need lots of luck.
