President's report

• Welcome all. My last week you will hear from me in the Presidents role.

• A great report back from Tilda on her Tall Sailing Ship experience.

• And thanks Colleen for sharing some insight into your life story, sounds like an exciting one. Hope too many members aren’t drowning you with dental health issues.

• District Changeover was on last Saturday, about 17 from the Cluster traveled down on the bus, a very joyous occasion. DG Amanda handed over to our local DG Ron Payne. Thanks to Allie and Julia for representing our club also.

• Another RAWCS meeting on Monday where the housing situation was further discussed. There is frustration with the delays in moving forward with the building process as was expected. The residents at the Elmore Event Centre are moving on, some rehoused and others will be in vans in their own yard.

• The second bus trip to Shepparton for the Mens Health program is planned for the next couple of weeks. It has been appreciated and ongoing connections of monthly reviews over lunch have begun to occur. We are sponsoring this in conjunction with Bendigo Rotary.

• You would have read the Recycling Textile article in the Bulletin last week How fortunate we have new local sites for drop offs.

• An invite from Tony Plant Bendigo South re the NYSF , inviting us to participate this year. He has requested 8 pairs of clever Rotarian supervisors to assist. Date is the 18th. August. Further details later.

• Reclink BBQ in Maryborough. This week cancelled for us. Rob will keep us informed for the next one.

• Wonderful to be able to present two donations to our local charities from our fundraising efforts this year.

• Firstly the Bendigo Sustainability Group for solar panels for appropriate low income housing, was accepted by Melissa, Project Manager for BSG.

• And secondly the donation for the Gobbe Wellness Cancer Centre to assist in provision of specialist services and complementary therapies and programs for cancer patients in Bendigo and Loddon Shire. This was accepted by Jenna Singh, RN Manager of the Centre.

• Looking forward to catching up with you at our Changeover Luncheon on Sunday 2nd July.

Many thanks to you all for a busy and achievable year, supporting our community, national and international projects also.

Yours sincerely,

President Judy

It was wonderful to see our club make two significant donations this week - to the Gobbe Cancer Wellness Centre and to the Bendigo Sustainability Group. The donations will help cement our club's aim of doing good in Bendigo and the world.
Well done President Judy and all club members who have turned up, cooked sausages, and contributed in many different ways.

The BSG said this money will be a great help to people who are struggling just to stay warm this winter. They literally cannot afford to turn their heaters on.
