Bulletin Week 13
Kevin, Brian and Chris enjoying breakfast.
Collingwood supporters Martin and John, commiserating on “what it should have been!”  'Note, no-one wants to sit next to sad-sacks
There is always next year.

Another great day at the Bridge as Chairman Stan welcomed back Neville Sharpe from his O/S sojourn and our guest speaker John Cannon. Good to see John Pacher back again and always happy and smiling as per usual and Mark Weragoda on a school term break. Apparently some were suggesting that Mark was a visiting Rotarian? But very quickly Mark and JC were given some jobs to sort out the honour boards and banners for the rolling digital display.
Thanks Gerard for popping in to change the baton with Stan.

Guest Speaker
Chairman Stan introduced our guest speaker, member John Cannon who had a great presentation on his and Barbara’s tour through Samara, Paris, Switzerland, St Petersburg and Moscow. The highlight of the trip was the 12 day on a cruise ship from St Petersburg. The sights included (according to John ) half of the 44,000 churches, multiple train stations, visits to commune houses and privately owned homes, castles, museums and the beautiful countryside seen from their ship. At no time did they feel unsafe, saw little evidence of graffiti and were welcomed everywhere they went. John did attempt to qualify for a football championship and successfully passed the first hurdle which was being of a suitable age. It went downhill after that!.
No conversation with John and Russia would not include the “Lada”. Apparently they are still the most expensive car in Russia because you have to buy 5 of them to ensure that one will be working. In his absence John quoted Wayne Gregson who once said that “the only reason Lada’s have heated rear windows is that you don’t get cold hands whilst pushing them”.  John was disappointed that Vladimir chose to attend the UN and not stay in Moscow to meet and greet him and Barbara. With plenty of fantastic slides and a commentary that only John could provide, members were treated to a great presentation. Thanks John.
Club Runner handouts as supplied from Chris Rankin will be sent out as a separate email as they refused to cut and paste inn a suitable manner.

There is a rumour circulated by Stan Hendy that John Cannon has never carried a load in the back of his ute. Many of us would agree, we have witnessed
his anguish at even getting dust on the tray.

John has now supplied proof that he has carried one load. I understand he carefully placed blankets to protect from ANY chance of a scratch.
