Cluster Club Changeovers
Between us, we have attended the changeovers of our cluster clubs, save for Echuca-Moama, which is in August. It is always interesting to attend these important events, as there is always good fellowship, and you find out more about their past activities and plans for the future. We were unfortunately unable to attend Castlemaine RC’s changeover, as it was held in the afternoon on the same day as our own.
There was a nice touch at the Rochester Rotary Club changeover last Sunday. Incoming president, Bryan Griffiths has not been well lately, and so two Rotarians from Bendigo South, president Rod Spitty and treasurer Bernie Young, kindly picked him up from Bendigo Health, took him to his clubs’ changeover, then returned Bryan to his hospital bed afterwards! A very nice gesture from the Bendigo South Rotary Club ambulance service to enable Bryan to enjoy the day.
Rochester flood victims assistance
We intend to continue to work with RAWCS in assisting it to provide future support for residents affected by the floods in Rochester. Adrian attended a RAWCS ZOOM meeting recently so as to come up to speed on the current level of activity, and to learn about possible future assistance plans. As time goes on, we will see what type of support is required, and what our club feels it can offer to Rochester RC and Rochester residents in general.
Our board meetings for this year will be held 2-monthly, on the 3rd Tuesday of that month. However, if there is a need for additional meetings from time to time, the board will schedule these. Our Club Forum will follow the next day, so that members are quickly and fully informed of board decisions taken or recommended. The first board meeting is scheduled for 5pm, 15th August. All members are welcome to attend, either in person, or via ZOOM link.
See you next Wednesday.
Co-presidents Adrian and Ray.
