Great to be back at the Fosterville Tennis Centre. Hopefully venues lock outs are a memory of the past, thanks to all members who participated in registering for the double jab, becoming very common place at all eateries now.
 
It was good to host DG Dale at our meeting, with some members also taking time out to be introduced. By all reports we received very good feedback of the morning meeting.
 
Doug Lougoon has enticed three members all potential champions to form a team for the Toyota Charity Golf to be held on 3rd of December all in aid of Food Share.
Our Club will be sponsoring the team to the value of $500 also providing labour to man the BBQ
Fellowship evening to be held at Rising Sun on Tues 23rd November 6:30 – 7:00 pm all welcome.
 
Save the date our Xmas function will be held on the 12th of Dec at the Rosaia’s with more detail to follow.
 
Discussions with Bendigo Jockey Club as potential site for Australia Day Market well advanced. As mentioned previously we still have to plan as if event is going ahead again dependent on Government restrictions and conditions.
 
Reminder to all members to check if their Working with Children Card has not lapsed.

Citizen Science
ESRAG (Environment Sustainability Rotary Action Group) recently conducted a zoom session about Citizen Science and the work of ASCA (Australian Citizen Science Association). It was very interesting because Citizen Science allows everybody to contribute to the data gathering necessary to build statistically relevant sample sizes and so determine valid trends. Individuals or groups can find existing projects to contribute to, or start their own projects. The link below will take you to the ACSA website. From there you can go to the ‘project finder’ under the ‘resources tab’ to see current local projects. There are 3 listed for Bendigo. Each one relates to the Reimagining Bendigo Creek initiative.  They are 10 year projects to collect biodiversity data and monitor improvements.
